Today, I decided to start an orderly and civil discussion about guidelines for categories. Before, categories had no rules attached to them. People added categories without reading their respective pages, not even bothering to see if the page had been started yet. This coupled with the more-than-two-year period where the wiki completely lacked an administrator of any kind led to a plethora of messiness. On a side note, I would like to thank User:MilezTailzPrower for finally erasing the "Other Characters" category once and for all.
Yes, from now on, most if not all categories will feature a series of specifications. These specifications determine which pages can be added to a page. Today, we are going to try and get several of these specifications (written by one of our newest contributors User:Chibifoxkit) made officlal.
[While we're on the topic, I didn't realize until a couple of days ago that Siberian99 had replied on the ATHF Wiki talk:Style Guide page on the discussion we had a couple of weeks ago.]
I would like to have a discussion on other categories that users would like to add at a later date. This way, users can prepare their arguments. The date of this discussion has yet to be determined, but I WILL edit this post with the date when we decide on it.
Click here for the original guidelines posted by Chibifoxkit. For the discussion that followed, you may have to navigate the history of my talk page. I tried to correct the grammatical mistakes for this forum thread (he was using notepad.exe), so they are not exactly the same as they appear in that earlier message, but they still carry the same basic message.
Now, I shall begin to post the guidelines. Be sure to use the "Quote" button instead of the "Reply" button. That way, you won't confuse people if someone posts before you finish your reply.
