This page is a list of rules for the Aqua Teen Hunger Force Wiki. This ruleset went into effect on Thursday, February 20, 2025.
Fandom TOS
First and foremost, users are not permitted to do anything on the ATHF Wiki that would violate the host site Fandom's Terms of Service agreement. Some of these rules will be explained here, but editors are encouraged to familiarize themselves with this information.
Code of Conduct
Users are held to a certain standard of conduct on this wiki. Users are expected to behave in a civil manner when editing the ATHF Wiki. This means:
- No rudeness, insults, name-calling, or use of slurs. Administrators will be lenient with some course or explicit language, but it is not necessary to direct an assault of adult language at users on the wiki. Slurs (including but not limited to slurs attacking race, gender, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender orientation, or disability) will not be tolerated in the same way.
- No personal attacks: Comment on a topic or argument, never the person. See below.
- No taunting, baiting or trolling: deliberately pushing others to the point of breaching civility even if not seeming to commit such a breach themselves.
- No harassment, including hounding, personal or legal threats, posting of personal information, repeated messaging and ignoring their request to be left alone.
- No lying or otherwise grossly misrepresenting a truth
- No quoting another editor out of context to give the impression they hold views they do not hold, or to cast aspersions on their credibility or decency.
- No threats of spam/vandalism or harm to other users and wikis.
- No going off topic. There are thousands of wikis based on different topics. Being on Aqua Teen Hunger Force Wiki, topics—within reason—should be about the wiki, Aqua Teen Hunger Force and its spin-offs, and its community.
Editors are human and capable of mistakes, so a few minor incidents of incivility from time to time are not in themselves a major concern. However, a studied pattern of incivility is disruptive and unacceptable. Administrative users may issue longer blocks of six months to two years to users who repeatedly violate the wiki's rules.
Age Policy
You must be old enough that your account does not violate any applicable laws regarding minors on the internet. In the United States of America (except California) and the United Kingdom, users must be 13 years old to edit the wiki under governing laws. This is the bare minimum. In California and the European Union (except the United Kingdom), you must be 16 years old. Anyone younger than that will be banned as per our host site Fandom's Terms of Service. Since Aqua Teen Hunger Force is generally a show intended for teens and adults, it is highly recommended that Fandom users below the age of 16 do not edit the wiki.
Adult Content Policy
The wiki documents uncensored adult content, including but not limited to: swearing, racial stereotypes, gender stereotypes, drug abuse, gambling, hateful language, and pornography addiction. Due to the nature of the series and its subject matter, swearing generally will not be censored on the wiki. However, it is recommended that swearing be reserved for character quotes. Exceptions can be made for characters names that include vulgar language.
Pornography
As per Fandom's TOS, do not upload pornography to the wiki. This will result in the user being blocked without warning. Depending on the severity, the user may be banned permanently.
Discussions of Pulled Episodes
The Season 5 episode “Boston” was pulled prior to airing and is not legally available for viewing anywhere. It was not banned; rather, the parent company of Cartoon Network decided not to finish and release the episode. The episode's removal is discussed at length on its own page.
The Season 6 episode “Shake Like Me” was unceremoniously pulled in circa 2022. Unlike “Boston,” it was released originally on the Volume Six DVD and later on television airings and streaming. It was not banned; the company Warner Bros. Discovery pulled the episode to prevent controversy ahead of the release of Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm. While it's clear the episode was pulled due to sensitivity concerns regarding the episode's portrayal of race issues, there was no known controversy when the episode was new. Some might say it was a different time.
Detailed information about these two episodes is allowed on the wiki, but links to where one can view them are not allowed. See the Piracy policy.
Plagiarism Policy
Do not claim other people's work as your own. Screen shots taken from the show uploaded to the wiki should be labeled with the “fair use” license. Do not claim to have authored the image just because you captured the screen shot from the episode. This also applies to logos, character models, concept art, and anything else that was created by the crew and/or owned by Warner Bros. Discovery and its subsidiaries. Repeatedly doing this can result in a ban of one day to one week.
Additionally, information on the wiki should be original. It should not be copied from other sites such as Wikipedia. Put things in your own words or summarize. First time offenders will be given a warning. Repeat offenders may be banned for a period of one day to one week. Severe offenses of repeatedly plagiarizing other sources will result in longer blocks of at least six months.
Piracy Policy
Links to piracy sites are not allowed on the ATHF Wiki. Links to illegal uploads of full episodes on YouTube are not allowed either. Users can be blocked for three days to one week for linking to piracy sites. Warnings may be given to editors by administrators at the administration's discretion.
Links to official clips uploaded by Warner Bros. Discovery and links to clips uploaded with permission from Warner Bros. Discovery will be allowed. In some cases, articles may link to or reference interviews, promos, commercials, etc. that are uploaded to YouTube.
Ban Evasion Policy
The use of sockpuppet accounts to evade blocks is banned globally across Fandom. This means if a user is blocked on the ATHF Wiki, they cannot create a new account under a new email address to bypass this block. Evading a ban by creating a new account will result in the new account being banned indefinitely. If administrators have reasonable evidence that an account is a sockpuppet account created for the purposes of ban evasion, the user in question will be alerted on their main account via their talk page. Administrators may extend the main account's block if they keep creating sockpuppet accounts.
Automated Accounts
Users who have created a separate “bot” account to make automated edits to the wiki should clearly label their main account on the bot account's profile. The owner of the bot account is responsible for edits made by the bot.
In compliance with the Ban Evasion Policy, if a user's main account is banned, their bot account will be banned as well. Users currently banned from the wiki cannot create bot accounts to bypass the Ban Evasion Policy.
Ranks
"Ranks" refer to user access levels. Different ranks have access to different tools on the Wiki. In addition, they signify that the user is a long time and helpful contributor. We currently employ the following ranks:
- Rollback - Can rollback an edit with one click, their main responsibility is to fight vandalism. This rank is given to helpful and long serving members of the community.
- Administrator & Bureaucrat - The former has access to additional backend features, while the latter can change user access levels. Like rollbacks, new admins are chosen as needed from helpful and long time contributors.
Users can apply or be nominated for one of these roles by posting about it on my message wall. The following requirements need to be met beforehand:
- 1000 edits.
- Must not have been blocked from the Wiki within the previous 365 days.
- Must have been active for six months or longer.
Note: New positions are at the discretion of administration. You will not be promoted just because you meet the requirements and have posted about it. New ranks will be promoted as needed.
Page Protection
It is generally not recommended that articles be protected from non-administrative edits without good reason. Administrative users are discouraged from locking articles just because they like the way the article is already written. However, if the page is subject to frequent or excessive vandalism, if the page has been the victim of an edit war, or if the page is particularly high traffic (such as the wiki homepage and the Episode Guide article), the page should be protected from non-administrative users. Many templates (such as the “Delete” template) are treated very differently in this regard and are thus usually protected from non-administrative edits.
Discussions Policy
Discussions are generally held to a lower standard than articles. However, there are rules for posts in “Discussions.”
Please check your spelling and grammar before posting your messages.
Excessive swearing is not encouraged on the "Discussions" tab. While some swearing will be tolerated due to the nature of ATHF, anything that violates the hate speech policies in the Fandom TOS is subject to potential blocks, including long-term blocks.
If you have already replied to a topic recently and would like to add something else, please use the “edit” button to add it on as an edit. Posting multiple replies in a row or excessive use of “double posting” can be worthy of a block from the wiki of one to three days. Spamming pages with multiple replies (especially with nonsensical content) is punishable with longer blocks lasting one month or longer.
Users who post questions in a “Discussions” post then immediately answer the question as if they are a different user will be banned. First time offenders will be banned for a period of one day to three days. Repeat offenders may be banned for longer periods of time.
Beginning March 1, 2025, Memes; joke posts, and low effort content are generally not allowed to be posted as Discussions threads and will be removed. This rule is not retroactive, so memes that were made prior to the rule change will remain up on the wiki's Discussions tab.
Do not post unsourced rumors of upcoming episodes or leaks of alleged upcoming episodes in the “Discussions” tab. Due to the tendency for these rumors to be false, they are not allowed on the ATHF Wiki and will be removed. First time offenders will given a warning on their Message Wall, and repeat offenders will be banned for a period of one to three days.
Posts in the “Discussions” tab should be primarily written in English. If administrators cannot accurately translate posts from different languages, they cannot moderate these discussions.
