Aquadonk Side Pieces is a new spinoff of Aqua Teen Hunger Force about the villains from the show. It premiered on [adult swim]'s YouTube channel on April 18, 2022, 16:00 UTC with one short per day, except for April 27th. It ran for 10 episodes.[1]
Background[]
Nearly seven years after the cancellation of Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and following word of a new movie from the series, Aquadonk Side Pieces was announced on May 19, 2021.[2] The first trailer was released on November 14, 2021 on Adult Swim's official Twitter page. [3]
Dana Snyder confirmed a series of "new Aqua Teen shorts" would premiere on [adult swim]'s YouTube channel on Monday, April 18, 2022. [4] This was corroborated by a similar Tiktok post from MC Chris, who said he is in a new short with a new song. [5] Series co-creator Dave Willis confirmed that there would be daily new episodes of Aquadonk Side Pieces for two weeks via a tweet published on Easter Sunday April 17, 2022. [6] Dave Willis also said in an interview that Handbanana would be in two different shorts, and some other returning villains would be the Frat Aliens, Happy Time Harry, and the Cybernetic Ghost of Christmas Past from the Future. [7] The Cybernetic Ghost appeared in the sixth episode "Breakie B".

Trivia[]
- Each episode previously lacked their title cards and "NEW:" prefixes until the release of "Merlo's Revenge Upon Unbelievable Ron".
- When "The Dumbest Doll of All" first released, all of the swears were muted in every episode.
- All of the swears were reinstated with the release of "Handbanana's Demise" (except for "The Return of Handbanana").
- The swears for "The Return of Handbanana" was reinstated with the premiere of season 12.
